Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 15 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Paradox Movement website and purchases from Paradox Movement. Please read them together with the product information and any written quotation or order confirmation provided to you.

1. About us

Paradox Movement designs and makes furniture and objects in Sydney, Australia. You can contact us at studio@paradoxmovement.com or at 50 Reilly Lane, Sydenham NSW 2044, Australia.

2. Website use

Please use this website lawfully and provide accurate information when making an enquiry or placing an order. You must not interfere with the website, introduce harmful software or use its content in a way that infringes another person’s rights.

3. Product information and natural materials

We aim to describe and display our products accurately. Screen settings, photography and lighting can affect how colours and finishes appear. Timber grain, colour, texture and other natural characteristics vary between pieces. Handcrafted items may also have minor variations consistent with their description and intended quality. These variations do not excuse a product that is faulty, materially different from its description or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee.

Please check dimensions, materials and finishes before ordering. Contact us if you need clarification or would like to discuss a finish or sample.

4. Prices, orders and payment

Unless stated otherwise, prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Delivery, installation and other agreed services are charged as shown at checkout or in your written quotation.

Payment amounts, deposits and balance due dates are those disclosed before purchase and recorded in your order or agreed quotation. Please review your order details carefully and contact us promptly about any errors.

If we identify a pricing error, availability issue or other problem affecting an order, we will contact you to discuss a correction or alternative. We will not increase the agreed price or substitute a materially different product without your agreement. If we cannot supply your order and no alternative is agreed, we will refund payments for the affected goods or services.

5. Made-to-order and bespoke work

For bespoke work, the agreed written specifications, drawings, finishes and quotation define the scope of your order. Please check these details before giving approval. Any requested changes to the scope, price or timing must be agreed in writing before the changed work proceeds.

Production and delivery estimates are provided on the relevant product page or in your order confirmation. They may depend on material availability, approvals and the work involved. We will advise you of significant delays and discuss available options. Estimates do not remove your rights regarding agreed delivery dates or supply within a reasonable time.

6. Delivery and access

Please provide accurate delivery details and tell us about stairs, lifts, narrow entrances or other access restrictions before delivery is arranged. Delivery and installation arrangements will be confirmed for your order. Any additional services or charges must be disclosed and agreed before they are incurred.

Please inspect your order on arrival and let us know promptly about damage, missing items or other concerns. Photographs and your order details can help us resolve an issue. A delay in reporting does not automatically remove your statutory rights.

7. Changes, cancellations and returns

Contact us as soon as possible if you wish to change or cancel an order. For made-to-order or bespoke pieces, the options may depend on whether materials have been ordered or production has begun. Any change-of-mind cancellation arrangements or charges must have been disclosed and agreed before purchase, be reasonable and comply with applicable law.

Change-of-mind requests are separate from claims for faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or misdescribed goods. Nothing in these terms makes a deposit automatically non-refundable or excludes a remedy required by law.

8. Australian Consumer Law

Your purchase may be protected by consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. These rights cannot be excluded by these terms. Depending on the nature of a failure, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy, including compensation where the law provides for it.

To raise a concern, email studio@paradoxmovement.com with your order details and a description of the issue. We will work with you to assess it and arrange the appropriate remedy.

9. Care and use

Follow any care, assembly and use instructions supplied with your piece. If you are unsure about cleaning products, placement or intended use, please contact us. Damage caused by misuse, unauthorised alterations or failure to follow reasonable care instructions will be assessed on its circumstances; your statutory rights remain unaffected.

10. Intellectual property and privacy

Website text, photographs, drawings, branding and other content belong to Paradox Movement or their respective owners. You may view and share links to this website for personal or legitimate business enquiries. Reproduction or commercial use of protected content requires permission unless permitted by law.

We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; their content and privacy practices are governed by those third parties.

11. Updates and applicable law

We may update these terms for future website use and purchases. Changes will not retrospectively alter an existing order without your agreement. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and applicable Australian law, without limiting mandatory consumer protections or your right to bring a claim in a forum available to you by law.
